For the majority of you reading this, Virus was an antagonist but the entire outline of the 13th edition of LMCMUN revolves around his ideologies of thriving under pressure, perplexities and predicaments.
 

It is about the way in which this conference will immerse you in such situations where you would be torn, not just between deciding the fate of your country but with facing international repercussions after hearing “The Buddha has finally smiled”.

 

LMCMUN 2024 is essentially about how every single delegate will have to make multiple choices which will lead to one conclusion: no sane person can ever discover victory in complete desolation. The entire essence of this conclusion lies in your collaboration as delegates to be constructive not destructive, to strive for agreements not wars.

 

The eight committees being simulated in LMCMUN 2024 ranges from discussing deadlocks in the Security Council to the militarisation of this world and beyond. All of our historic committees aim to make you understand how the past is already in debt to the mismanaged present and contrary to what you may believe, the past is not done and it is not over. It unravels itself more and more when being critiqued and analysed. You have an opportunity to identify its deceits and distortions and make it more liberating than any imaginable future.

 

My secretariat and I want to assure you that our commitment goes beyond a mere promise to maintain the current status of this conference. We strive to ensure that this experience is nothing short of unforgettable for you, seizing the opportunity to be part of a narrative that resonates with many, and to leave you with this feeling: to stop having diplomatic discussions would be hopelessly accepting that everything handed down to us is going to be ruined with human degradation.

 

To conclude, Rancho was right when he said, “Pursue excellence and success will follow.” So be it a Best Delegate award or an equally worthy participation, in retrospect: all is well.
